Our group was formed in 2002 welcoming all women, from all cultures, beliefs and backgrounds, who identify as older women. We conduct Gentle Exercise classes, Tai Chi, Craft, monthly Bus and Train trips etc.
The Older Women’s Network Sydney was formed in 2001, providing a supportive environment in which the social, political and friendship needs of older women are met.
When Noreen Hewett and Barbara Burnham came to the Sutherland Shire they researched the needs of older women, aged 55 years and over, and found that social isolation of older women was a priority that needed to be addressed.
We maintain our wellbeing through our programs, and we advocate for our rights and dignity by ensuring that we have good access to community facilities and resources, and that we are well represented in community forums.
OWN Northside Wellness Centre began in 1996 and established a Feldenkrais class for around 30 older women.
Based at the head office of OWN NSW, the Newtown Wellness Group are a friendly, diverse bunch of older women who share a desire to live life well.
Illawarra Wellness Centre was opened in September 2009 and commenced with classes in Tai Chi, Gentle Exercise and Drumming.
Our group believes that staying connected is the key to staying healthy as you get older. So our aim is to make sure you have fun!
At OWN Bankstown Wellness Centre, we welcome women of all cultures to build wellness, friendship and community. We offer fun, relaxation, acceptance and support.
We are a community hub, bringing together older Greek women from Bankstown and the surrounding areas to celebrate their community and friendship.
